Custom machined aluminum cleaning rod storage block.
Description
Area 419 Custom Cleaning Rod Rack. Holds 6 rods and 12 jags/brushes. Rods fit into the cut slots, and handles will self-index in the tapered counterbores. Comes with a wall-mounting bracket, and has a tray to store any miscellaneous items.
Available in raw aluminum or black anodized (coming soon).
Block is machined in house from 6061-T6 Aluminum. Footprint is 9.5″ x 4″

Slicker than I expected. BoreTech and Tipton rods fit, although they do fit differently. I don’t use the holes for jags and brushes, as I keep caliber specific equipment in its own small box. The magnets hold the mount to my safe very well.

Like all things manufactured by Area 419, this storage rack does not disappoint. It is high quality and looks great. The magnet Kit is a winner. It holds the rack just as if it were screwed in. Being able to move the rack around is another plus vs securing it into the sheetrock. You might wince at the price when you buy it but trust me, you will forgetaboutit when you open up the package and feel the substance of this thing. Small holes to hold jags are a nice touch too! The magnet sucks in the screws so tight you don’t even need an allen wrench to tighten it up. I got two in “black” and will undoubtedly buy at least one more. Maybe they will come out with some fancy colors by the time I make the next purchase.

This is a very high quality rod holder. It’s very lightweight, very solid, and the magnets are very strong. I have it stuck to a Gallow Technologies wall panel and it looks great. Maybe I’m being too critical for a product that’s designed to hold a variety of rods, but I gave it 4 stars because my rods don’t sit down in the bevel quite as deep and solid as I would prefer and it will not hold my pistol rod at all, partly due to this. The other factor being the fairly long handle on the rod. The rods for reference are Bore Tech proof positive. I also feel the price is a little steep personally. I’d have felt better spending $60 on it. That being said, if they made a rod specific holder that would even hold my pistol rod I’d be more than happy to spend $100 on it. Regardless, still a very high quality product and the “best” one I’ve come across.

A very nice piece as are all Area 419 products. The magnet mount makes it simple to use immediately though I’ll permanently mount it eventually because the combined weight of six 52″ cleaning rods is a little more than the magnets can reliably hold.

Finally I got the notice in the dentist parking lot and not knowing my password, I just ordered it with out logging in. It’s one massive piece. Purchased the optional magnet kit. Hangs on the door of my ammo locker. Well worth the wait.

Absolutely love the cleaning rod holders. Work perfect for me. The magnet screws are just a touch long so if would have scratched my cabinet, but a quick hit on a grinder brought them down and I don’t have to worry anymore if it gets slid around a little.
