Universal Weight-Tunable ARCALOCK Rail

ARCALOCK has been a huge success since its release in July of 2018. As the rails have become more popular, we have also seen the rise in popularity of rifle weight kits. With the introduction of the Manners TCS stock in late 2019, we designed and built an ARCALOCK weight system, and are ready to make it available to the general public. This is the 14.25″ Universal ARCALOCK Rail!
WHAT WILL IT FIT – Lots of things. We anticipate this will fit about 98% of Manners PRS1, PRS1, T2A, T2A GAP, T4A, T4A TEAM and T5A stocks. If you’re not sure if it will fit your rifle, you can use the hole spacing print AVAILABLE HERE and some basic common sense to figure it out. We made this as universal as possible, while still retaining weight tuning capability. These kits will come with t-nut hardware to add attachment points if your factory-installed attachment points do not line up with our mounting slots. While this can also be attached to MLOK, it DOES NOT come with MLOK hardware – available HERE
WEIGHT – The bare rail weighs just over 6oz. With all 5 included weights in the rail, the weight ends up at about 23.6oz. Each weight weighs 3.5oz.
THICKNESS – These rails are .400″ thick. For reference, our standard 14″, 12″ and 10″ Universal ARCALOCK rails are .270″ thick.
FINISH – Rails will be black hardcoat anodized, and the weights will remain raw brass.

Very well made piece of gear. Machining is top notch. 1 significant draw back is the proprietary type of bolts needed to fasten rail to stock. Slots machined into rail have a unique width and height that forces you to use specialty bolts from Area 419, (ie low profile narrow shoulder). This prevents you from using a common button head cap screw which is cheaper and located at any local hardware store.

Solid product with excellent quality. Only downside was hardware was too short to install and so I had to find new bolts for T nuts to install as an MLOK accessory. Thread pitch for MLOK T-nut is #10-24, about a half inch did the job so long as you find a bolt with a small enough head diameter to fit into the grooves in the arca rail.

Really great piece of gear. I used this to add some weight to a 6.5PRC with a carbon fiber barrel. It’s a really solid mount and the flexibility is good. I have it mounted on an LSS XL chassis so it sticks out the front about 6 inches past the actual chassis. Nevertheless it feels completely sturdy and I have no issues with instability with that config.

I put the Universal Weight-Tunable Arcalock rail on my 6.5 creedmoor to get the proper balance. The UWTA rail weights were the perfect match. My rifle is perfectly balanced with the added benefit of an additional 2 inches of area rail. Only rated. 4 becaua the weight rail did not come with the required MLOCK screws and bolts.

I was surprised that the brass weights chattered in their milled out aluminum rail. It made a half way decent rattle- but I solved it by using a layer of the plastic shipping bag as a shim between the brass and the rail. I installed 3 t-nuts in the manners stock- I went to the hardware store and purchased a longer screw for $.64 so I didn’t have to bury the t-nut an inch deep into the stock at the point closest to the action screw. I used a Forstner bit in the stock- which was similar to putting a screw into drywall- the stock drills very easily! The rail just makes the rifle easier and more ergonomic to handle. If you’ve been considering one of these to up your game- go for it! You won’t be disappointed!

Very high quality product and works great with a little modification (but that is to be expected for universal product.) I needed longer screws #10-32 screws for the non-action screws which will depend on your application. I believe the included screws are 3/4″ long and I needed 1″ for them to grab sufficiently. I found them from Monster Bolts on Amazon. Mine went on an Bergara HMR Pro. Very pleased.

The weight itself is great however the mounting hardware was not. I find it hard to believe the alternative to proper mounting screws were t-nuts. This would cause serious damage to my firearm should I use them, which I will not. I had to go to my local gunsmith for proper mounting screws.

Added the Area 419 weighted tunable arca rail to my Bergara HMR Pro rifle and absolutely love it. It was fairly easy to install. Just one email to customer service with a question that they answered right away. I love the fact that this shifted the center of balance for the rifle to just in front of the front action screw.
Previously it was stock heavy and center of balance was over the trigger which contributed to significant muzzle rise while shooting. Muzzle rise/flip is non-existent now. I used all 5 weights and love it. I would highly recommend this product.

I put the weighted rail on my back up rifle/trainer so it matches the weight and feel of my match rifle. I mounted it to a first gen XLR Element (that chassis doesn’t come with a rail) the supplied hardware was perfect & bolted right up. Now my 1st Gen XLR Element chassis matches my XLR Envy Heavy in rail length and rifle weight and balance. So far I’m 10-10 with all 419’s products!

Some modification may be required. I am using a Manners PRS2 with Hawkins bottom metal. The radius where the mag well meets the action screw hole location was causing the rail to not sit flush against the forearm. I had to file away at the rail to make clearance. Also, I chose to not mount the rail using the action screw and using the hole just ahead of the action screw one. If you choose to do that, you will need to install a t-nut just in front of the action recoil lug which is a thick part of the barrel channel. I went to ace hardware to get longer screws for this to avoid going super deep with the counter sink. I hope I don’t run into any bad effects from doing this, everything’s been working great so far.

Hey Nowell. To fit the largest number of actions possible we include an action screw compatible with Rem 700 (and clone) actions. It would be really implausible to include screws to fit every action out there.

Great product. The finish is beautiful, not a flaw in it. My only complaint would be the lack of longer screws for the T-nuts and a shorter action screw, one long enough to compensate for thickness of rail. Granted, I put this on a Bergara HMR pro and I believe these rails were more geared to fit the manners stocks. But I still got it to work and it works great. Worth every penny, would recommend and will buy again when I get my manners stock.

Hey Austin, we chased the “perfect length action screw” for a while, but ultimately opted for one that’s as long or longer than anyone needs as every stock maker or bottom metal manufacturer seems to be a little different on length. There was unfortunately no perfect answer.

This is really a must have item for competition. Its very important to have the rifle balance about 4″ in front of the magwell and this product is a big help.
