Description
At Area 419 we decided that there were no scope bases on the market that really met our requirements for quality, so we made our own. Its all in the little details that set this base apart from the competition. These are machined in house on our 4-axis HAAS VMC from 7075 Aluminum. Straight off the mill there is not a single sharp edge left, all corners are radiused and any necessary harsh corners are chamfered. Just like all of the other Picatinny products we make, we radius between the slots, and also radius the corners of the lugs to prevent any snag areas and give it a cleaner look.
- Comes with stainless recoil pin to work with receivers that have the hole available, rail will still work on those that do not
- As with our 700 rails, all screws are T10 Torx and the same length so no guessing which goes where
- The MOA angle of the base is guaranteed to be true to the spec due to advanced fixturing

This is an excellent receiver length scope base; it does not protrude over the barrel.
The independent recoil lug has a perfect light press fit into the rail body. This base is a good choice for mounting heavy precision scopes.

As advertised the rail is very well finished and looks great on my 6.5 PRC Roughtech. The recoil lug fits snuggly, so I know it is actually helping to reduce/eliminate shear forces on the 4 mounting screws. My go to rail for heavier recoiling cartridges is a Murphy Precision rail which is considerably heavier but has two additional pins and a 5th screw to take advantage of the T3x action (more than twice the cost and 3x weight). The only reason I gave this rail a 4 star rating is due to the cheap mounting screws supplied. Even at 15 in/lbs I stripped the head on one of the screws and had to drill it out. I replaced these with screws made out of a harder alloy which made a big difference.

The ability to make a rail look and feel the way it does with no squared edges and even include the extra piece to fit in the pocket of the rifle make it worth the extra money for this rail rather than other companies. This is my third rail from AREA 419 and if I need anymore, it will definitely have the AREA419 logo on it.

Hands down the best rail for the Tikka T3x. Unlike other brands I have seen, ALL the edges on this rail are finished and smooth and the contour of the rail matches perfectly with the receiver. Also unlike many other brands, these are made with higher grade 7075 aluminum and not 6061. The only downside is that they did not include a sticker 🙂

This was a great way to get a 20 MOA rail on my T3X CTR. The factory rail is tricky to take off due to two pins in the factory rail that go into the receiver. Once all the screws were out of the factory rail and it was off just make sure to wipe off the residue on the receiver before installing this Area 419 scope base.

Removing the factory rail was a huge pain. Torch, nylon mallet, and vise grip pliers on the torx key did the trick. The Area 419 rail is beautifully machined and and sits much lower than the factory Tikka Tac A1 rail, so take this into account Tac A1 owners. The lug needed to be gently tapped into the slot with the mallet. Torqued to 15 in lbs and off to the races. I topped the rail with ARC rings (medium height) and a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x. Objective has a few millimeters of clearance. Note: I cannot fit my Defender cover on the objective. So far so good!

Great rail. Well machined (no bedding needed), finish was perfect with no rough edges, includes a integrated recoil lug and built out of 7075 aluminum ( higher grade than many others). First Area 419 rail purchase but this is now my first stop for Tikka rails.
