The Area 419 billet aluminum powder funnel uses a system of interchangeable, caliber specific, heads to make it the ultimate funnel for reloaders available today.
Universal plastic powder funnels have several issues that are solved with this system:
1. Static cling. Plastic is prone to being charged with static and kernels of powder will stick to the walls causing you to have to tap the funnel to get them all to fall.
2. No such thing as universal. There are always cases that just wont work well with the universal design, and funnels tip off and spill powder, or they just plain wont fit.
3. Universal means that it has a hole meant for 22 caliber. So if you are trying to dump 90 grains into a big magnum, you are waiting a long time for the powder to fill.
The Area 419 Funnel’s interchangeable heads thread onto the funnel and are neck-diameter specific for each caliber. They do not rely on fitting over the body of the case to hold in place. They are sized slightly larger than the neck diameter so that they hold solid on the case. Each head has a bore sized a few thousandths smaller than the bullet diameter, so maximum flow is achieved for each caliber. This is huge for the super ultra magnum guys (375 Cheytac, 408 Cheytac, 50 BMG, etc). The interface between the heads and the funnel is designed in such a way that no kernels can ever get stuck between the two, as long as the head is tightened completely.
The Funnel’s design is both aesthetic and performance driven. Being machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum means no static charge to cling kernels to the funnel walls. This also makes it far safer for use with black powder.
- “Flutes” on the outside are for looks, on the inside though, they disturb the powder kernels from trying to jam up at the neck. It also gives some airspace so they do not get packed up so tightly, all aimed to increase flow through the nozzle.
- 3/8″ tall straight section at the top to help prevent kernels of powder from bouncing out when poured in.
- Smooth surfaces at the neck of the funnel and inside the heads promote quick flow and prevent any sticking kernels.
- NEW! Machined in handles to give you a grip if you like to grab the funnel from the side instead of top. Symmetrical design means the funnel no longer tips to the side.

- Machined in house from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum, every single surface of the block is machined.
- Holds the funnel with or without a head attached as well as 10 spots for heads or drop tubes to be stored

I have been using the stand alone 30cal adapter with the Master Funnel for several years and have absolutely loved it. Enter the 7PRC and the spilled mess of powder from my universal do all plastic funnel, Area 419 to the rescue! I purchased a master funnel kit and extra adapter’s to fit other calibers I shoot, all I can say it’s worth every penny! So much nicer than plastic. Additionally I purchased a number of reloading tray’s to fit the specific calibers (I tend to load 100 at time) the fit is good and being constructed of aluminum the trays are stable on the bench. Between the two they dramatically improve charging cases. I have been hand loading for over 40 years and have used many products, this is the best.

I used to use a cheap plastic funnel. I doubted spending this kind of money on a funnel could be worth while. I wanted to speed up my process. After watching a few reviews, I noticed how much faster powder flowed through the Area 419 than the one I was using. My process has become quicker, I can use one had on handle the funnel, set it on a case and gravity holds it, then dump a charge quickly and put the pan right back on my dispenser. It has sped up my charging process by a factor of 2-3 times. I wish I had bought it sooner.

I got really tired of my red plastic funnel. Yes it had adapters for different calibers but they did not fit very well. I got tired using the old plastic funnels that loved to attract static electricity and wanted to clog powder at the hole. With the grooves and aluminum construction, the powder goes in and goes in fast. The caliber specific neck adapters are a joy and quick to change and the base is a solid quality piece. I got these to minimize powder issues. Occasionally powder will jamb up and hold in the neck of the funnel vs going in – in my old system. I have experienced that once with this one so far. Plus the tolerance of mouth and case holder separation, allows me to grab shell and funnel and dump excess powder into my hopper when I screw up. That is a plus.

Hey Robert, we changed the design a while back, as we used to sell them with a handle. What we found with handles is they throw off the balance of the funnel and guys were having issues with tipping or the heads binding on the neck of the cases. Funnels now have two tabs, one on each side, to be used to grab. They’re balanced, and give you something nice to get ahold of!

Even the packaging is fantastic. The pics don’t do this kit justice to be honest. I am so glad I decided to spoil myself with this one as I got tired of janky plastic funnels snagging on brass and apilling my carefully weighed powder charge, or leaking around the edge, or bridging etc. Even Johnny’s Reloading Bench has tried various other metal funnel solutions but never really liked any of them. I have always appreciated fine workmanship and this is an excellent example of just that. The set arrived today and the fit and finish is flawless and it will last forever – unlike plastic funnels that have cracked. I tested several cases with the different heads and the fit is just like the rest of the unit – excellent. This is not an inexpensive shooting accessory, but one that is well worth the money. The only thing that could make it better would be the ability to select the heads that would come with the set. This is a great investment and an item that I am sure will be here long after I am gone.

If a funnel can be called precision, this one is for sure. Thought about those ‘caliber specific’ funnels but could not justify cost for nine or ten. Base is a piece of art. A+++

I’ve had this kit for a couple of months, and it was a much needed upgrade from the plastic funnels that I had been using. I use this kit for 4 different calibers, and the interchangeable, caliber specific, heads seal around the case mouths perfectly. The powder flows smoothly without sticking (no static cling) to any of the funnel parts. The caliber heads screw on easily and securely, and with the storage base I know exactly where the required head is.
For compressed or full case charges, I would recommend getting the drop tube to help compact the powder into the cases better. Buy this Funnel Kit and you will not be disappointed.
I cannot recommend this kit, or any of the Area 419 products, any higher. The RCBS Chargemaster 1500 metal pan and cup are unbelievable, and the Hellfire Breaks are the best I’ve ever tried, and I now have 3.

Explain…
-stackable drop tubes. This helps immensely when throwing powder and you need good compression, especially
For magnums. You can achieve this by throwing powder on a short little funnel and shaking it around to let it settle. Saves time and possible spillage here.
-machines aluminum with threading. Nicely made and not smooth ended which can cause uneven fitment for “universal style” type funnels.
-caliber specific inserts: reason why Saturn funnels did very well was due to aluminum construction, smooth powder flow (no static clinging) and caliber specific threads.
Problems were adding drop tubes required modification and you need to buy multiple funnels to make calibers work. Area 419 solved this albeit at a reflected price.
Do you need all the inserts? No; but they’re handy to have in case.
Bottom line: smooth , unobstructed and clean flow of powder into your case.

Best funnel I’ve ever used. I have cheap plastic green funnels and static and not always flowing was an issue. Bought a hardcore gear aluminum funnel, nice but small and caliber specific. This funnel works great on all my calibers and being able to adapt it to my standard Dillon powder die and not needing a different die like with the Dillon funnel attachment is awesome. It’s big, no issues with blockage, look amazing and fits great.

I purchased one of the first funnel kits. I have used it a lot. It is by far the best funnel out there. With other funnels you need to use a drop tube to get the powder compressed. I have not had to use one to get the results I am after. Heads have all fit great so far. Fit and finish is great.

I received my funnel set and wanted to say how pleased I am with the quality and performance. I’ve used Satern funnels up to this point but yours are far superior. Powder fills the case evenly, doesn’t stick to the funnel and as a bonus the funnel makes a pleasing ringing sound as the powder spirals into the case.
