Area 419 is always looking for ways to improve existing products when we are not developing new technologies. With the rapid growth in popularity of ARCA rails in precision rifle, we saw a need to improve this great dovetail technology to something that could be mechanically locked in place instead of just friction. If you have ever tried using a Barricade stop on an existing ARCA rail, you’ve probably also seen it slide under much pressure.
Introducing the ARCALOCK Dovetail Rail System *Rail is only locking with an Area 419 clamp*
Rail Features:
– Serrated rail sides interface with our proprietary clamp design to mechanically lock it in place so no movement is possible. Serrations are not sharp, will not damage bags or your hands.
– Rail is backwards compatible with standard Arca accessories, but will not be locking without our clamp
– Rail is 12″ long giving you the entire length of the stock forend for attachments. The best part is, it still only weighs in at a paltry 4.1oz
– Made to the RRS 1.5″ Dovetail Standard, so you can be sure lever clamps will work
– No sharp edges. Every corner is radiused, and every edge is chamfered on the machine. This takes longer to make, but it is the only right way.
– While designed with Manners Composite Stocks in mind, this rail accommodates a multitude of rifle and stock configurations that have an accessible front action screw and some sort of front attachment point(s).
– Spacers for rifle stocks with non-flat forends are available HERE
– Designed to attach to the rifle up to 4 places for maximum strength and stability.
– Type 3 Hard Coat anodized for additional durability.
– Made from 6061-T6 Aluminum
– Made in-house here in the USA from USA sourced Aluminum on USA made CNCs
– Rail comes with extra Remington 700-style action screw of extended length to fit the rail to the front action screw attachment point. Some trimming will likely be required.
– A 3/4″ paddle bit and drill press may be required for installation of tee-nuts, depending on current rifle configuration. Tee nuts and hardware included.

This is a well made product and easily mounted my to Bergara HMR stock with the no holes drilled, just modifying the provided action bolt for length. I think a 10″ would be a little short to mount without modifications to the stock and a 14″ will be quite long.

It took about 10 min to install the rail and about an hour to cut and grind the action screw to the correct length. Recommed buying extra action screws with a head that sits flush to the rail. The included one protrudes well above the rail and will not sit flush. If you install this on a chassis you will need mlok screws and nuts which are not included. RRS sells screws with a flat head that will sit flush with the rail. The ones Area 419 sells on their website do not sit flush with the rail.

I purchased this rail to go on my Tikka Tac A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor and it fits perfectly! I will say that I’m on my 2nd barrel and my current tube is a 26-inch Benchmark from PVA in M24 contour. If you own a Tac A1, be careful installing these rails as the m-lok screws may actually touch the barrel as you’re doing the installation. If they do contact the barrel or are too close for comfort, they may require some work to shorten them.
I have not run this setup in any matches yet, however I have tested the rifle platform with the new arcarail on some of my practice barricades at home. With the barricade block and the front clamp Harris bipod adjustment my rifle locks onto barricades rock solid. If you compete in PRS, the arcalock rail system is an invaluable tool: move the bipod extremely close to the mag well for short obstacles, having a flat bottom to the hand-guard, the ability to clamp rock solid onto PRS style barricades and surfaces. What are you waiting for?!
