Area 419 is always looking for ways to improve existing products when we are not developing new technologies. With the rapid growth in popularity of ARCA rails in precision rifle, we saw a need to improve this great dovetail technology to something that could be mechanically locked in place instead of just friction. If you have ever tried using a Barricade stop on an existing ARCA rail, you’ve probably also seen it slide under much pressure.
Introducing the ARCALOCK Dovetail Rail System *Rail is only locking with an Area 419 clamp*
Rail Features:
– Serrated rail sides interface with our proprietary clamp design to mechanically lock it in place so no movement is possible. Serrations are not sharp, will not damage bags or your hands.
– Rail is backwards compatible with standard Arca accessories, but will not be locking without our clamp
– Rail is 10″ long giving you great real estate for attachments, but not extending too far on shorter forends. The best part is, it still only weighs in at a paltry 3.5oz
– Made to the RRS 1.5″ Dovetail Standard, so you can be sure lever clamps will work
– No sharp edges. Every corner is radiused, and every edge is chamfered on the machine. This takes longer to make, but it is the only right way.
– While designed with Manners Composite Stocks in mind, this rail accommodates a multitude of rifle and stock configurations that have an accessible front action screw and some sort of front attachment point(s).
– Spacers for rifle stocks with non-flat forends are available HERE
– Designed to attach to the rifle up to 4 places for maximum strength and stability.
– Type 3 Hard Coat anodized for additional durability.
– Made from 6061-T6 Aluminum
– Made in-house here in the USA from USA sourced Aluminum on USA made CNCs
– Rail comes with 1 long Remington 700-style action screw to fit the rail to the front action screw attachment point. Some trimming will likely be required.

Ok so I am going to five this item a great review justbon the build quality alone. It is very well machined and is of very high tolerances. CNC made with very exact and precise quality. I have not installed this length rail on my new 457MTR as I really need the 12 or 14 inch. That being said I ordered the 12 inch so I can have it mounted with the supplied T nuts on my new stock. I talked to the guys at 419 and the sent me a new RA number with paid shipping to send back the 10 inch that I initially ordered, how bout that for service? I should be getting my 12 inch rail tomorrow as per the tracking number they sent me. I will definitely be ordering morbitem from them in the future as well as posting some more shots of my finished 457 as soon as I get ot done.

Exactly what you’d expect from Area 419. Top tier stuff. I did pick up an extra 5/16-18 T-nut because the larger bolts don’t come with them. I wanted some extra purchase in the back of the rail because my M40-A5 stock does not allow the back rail hole to line up wit the front action screw.

Several months ago, I made two decisions. The first was to give an ARCA rail a try. The second was to buy yet another pricey tripod setup, all in the hunt for the rail & tripod system that I love. I chose an Area 419 Arcalock rail as the Arca test subject and a Vortex Radian Carbon Fiber tripod with pan/tilt ball head. Lastly, I put a Really Right Stuff 60mm Lever Release Clamp (B2-LR-II) on top of the Vortex tripod.
The tripod setup is the silent, velvet smooth, and sturdy and is my favorite of the five near $1000 tripod setups I own. The Area 419 Arcalock rail & the Really Right Stuff 60mm lever clamp are the perfect pair every shooter who utilizes a monopod, bipod, or tripod should try. I have found the setup I have zero desire to leave. The Area 419 Arcalock rail is extraordinarily well made. I have since put an Area 419 Arcalock rail on every long gun which I ever intend to use on a mono, bi, or tripod.
To facilitate the ability to quickly & easily connect & disconnect a mono or bipod to my long guns outfitted with the Area 419 Arcalock rails, I bought an Area 419 clamp & Picatinny/1913 Adapter for Arcalock clamps for every mono and bipod I regularly use (because each uses Picatinny to connect to a gun). Now, each of the mono or bipods I regularly use has its own clamp & pic rail adapter combo attached to it. The net result is the ability to connect or disconnect the desired mono or bipod to the long gun I’m using in a few seconds and the connection is silent and strong as a weld.
I promise you can’t go wrong with the Area 419 Arcalock rails and the equipment combinations described above. They will be my sole setups for countless years to come.

If your hand guard is designed for M-Lock have some #10-24 x 38″ socket cap screws on hand to affix the rail. My local “orange Box” store had some stainless versions in stock. The head of screws that come with the Magpul M-LOK T-Nut replacement set are not going fit in the grooves/holes for mounting. Additionally, pick-up some Loctite Blue Threadtight. Once in hand you will have your new rail mounted in minutes.
