419 Finger Groove bolt knob
Description
This bolt knob was designed by Area 419 to be the best all around bolt knob for competition and general use. Its main feature is the finger groove which allows you to manipulate the bolt with just your pointer finger without searching for the ideal position each time. Your finger automatically catches in the groove to assure the fastest, smoothest bolt manipulation. There are two knurled surfaces located on either side of the groove to give a sure grip.
- Made in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized flat black.
- Defiance and Remington bolt knobs are threaded 5/16″-24.
- Remington knobs are 1-5/8″ long to accommodate shorter bolt handles
- Bergara and CZ 457 bolt knobs are threaded M6x1 and also work on many Accuracy International rifles.
- Mausingfield bolt knobs are internally threaded 10-32. Will only work on Mausingfield and Nucleus Bolts.

Was struggling to cycle the bolt with a factory knob. Picked up this knob and it was tremendously easier. Nice quality and ergonomic. No real complaints except I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to dig out some leftover chips from the machining process inside the knob where the threads were cut (really not a problem).

Love these bolt knobs. Have one on both of my Impact actions and another on my Vudoo. My finger indexes the groove and locks in there, facilitating a fairly easy one finger bolt lift. Subjective opinion here, I think it really increases the speed at which I can operate the bolt. They’re cheap, buy one and run it for a while.

Solid bolt knob with pretty good ergonomics. The weight seems to aid in cycling the bolt and light knurling provides adequate grip when shooting in the summer heat. The finish is slightly glossy that doesn’t quite match the A419 bolt knob adapter or the action but it doesn’t contrast so much that it bothers me. I’m using this on a Seekins Havak HIT and unfortunately, due to its size, I’m no longer able to fold the buttstock flat against the side of the rifle. I have this knob on both of my Havak HITs and don’t plan on changing them out.

Nice knobs, BUT do not attempt to remove the old knob unless you are prepared to order a replacement handle. Some handle/knob combos have enough Rockset on them to equate to Red Loctite-result is snapping off the knob. You can’t use enough heat. The handles are simple to remove and then you can keep the original handle.

The threads literally have a better fit than the original bolt knob that came on my bergara, I would recommend lock tite for any bolt knob threading on but I hunter with it for 2 weeks without it coming loose at all, not sitting in a blind or stand either. I use this knob for NRA High Power XTC matches, in rapid fire I like the way the knob catches my finger, or the way my finger catches the knob during rapid bolt manipulation.
I use on my Pierce Action Rem 223, and the little extra weight also helps with stripping the next round from the magazine and closing.
