In our opinion these are the only correctly made mag extensions on the market. Other magazine extensions on the market are simply rectangular blocks. If you look at your magazine the bottom is angled so when you attach a competitors extension, it is not parallel with the column of cartridges in the magazine. This probably works fine for +2 rounds, but it would not work for much if any more. We decided to do it right, and cut the attachment rail at an angle to the pocket in the mag. This means that the column of rounds travels straight down into the extension. This took extra time on the mill and we chose to cut them in one operation on the 4th axis, but it was worth it to deliver to you the most advanced product of its kind. The fluting around the sides make an excellent gripping point for mag changes and also helps to remove some weight.
After starting with the American Rifle Company +4 mag extension, we realized that with a little bit of redesign that it could work equally well with AICS an Accurate mags. The 419 universal mag extensions are designed to work on a variety of magazines from the ARC 10rd mag to AICS 5 or 10rd and Accurate Mag in either standard bolt face or on SAUM/WSM mags. They are NOT COMPATIBLE with AI AW magazines, as those have a fixed/welded floorplate.

I ordered the AICS magazine extension for 6.5PRC/SAUM and it works great. Allows me to run a full 10rds of 7SAUM in my Accumag/AICS 7rd magazine. Install was easy and the magazine also drops out of the rifle faster when shooting matches.

I have their funnel set and 3 of these extensions on my AI mags. I use them for spring pressure more than the extra rounds. When loafing 10 rounds – I like that the tenth is not jammed in there but feels like the other nine upon inserting. This is especially true when shooting groups or ladders as I want as much consistency as possible. Area 419 rocks – plain and simple.

This Area 419 mag extension slides on easily to the magazine and only requires one screw (included) to lock in place. I know can run 14-rds in an AI mag or 16-rds in an MDT 12-rd mag. Very useful for PRS/NRL type matches.

Bought off Brownell’s earlier this month to use with my Savage 10 Stealth with Drake/MDT chassis. Used half a dozen times so far with smooth, flawless operation with 15 rounds of .308 loaded. HOWEVER, there was a 1mm gap between the set screw and wall of the 10-round A.I. magazine which caused a very annoying rattle (I used a small o-ring to mitigate it).

Great product right here. I run 10 round Accurate mags in my match rifle and I’ve always had issues getting 10 rounds in them. After lots of struggling with them I ordered 2 of Area 419’s mag extensions. It solved all my problems. I’m only putting 10-12 rounds in them because I’m worried about compressing the stock spring to much but now my 6×47 and 6.5 creedmoor feed like butter and they’re so much easier to load.

Well made and work great. My only complaint is I had to round the all of the edges of the follower on my AI mag so it would stop catching when I fully loaded the magazine, but that’s not Area 419’s fault The biggest bummer and just for an FYI if you put this on a 5 round AI mag it will not seat in a MPA chassis due to the extension hitting the sides of the mag well before the mag is in far enough to catch.
