Description

Accuracy International is the standard by which other detachable box magazines are measured by.  These are available for short or long action.  Specs on all variations are:

 

  • AICS 5 or 10 round – Double stack, single feed. For your 308 and similar based cartridges (6.5 Creedmoor, 243 WIN, 6.5×47, etc) This is the magazine you should choose if you have a Remington 700 or other clone that is NOT compatible with AW magazines.  2.89 OAL
  • AW 10 round – Arctic Warfare Magazine.  Double stack, double feed.  (6.5 Creedmoor, 243 WIN, 6.5×47, etc) Only choose this magazine if you have an action cut for the AW specifically, this WILL NOT fit an unmodified Remington 700.  Examples of actions cut for AW are Defiance, some Stiller, some Bighorn, maybe others.  2.95 OAL
  • AICS 300WM 5 or 10 round – Single stack, single feed.  Use this magazine with your 300 Winchester Magnum, 284 Win, or other similar cartridges. 3.625 OAL
  • AICS 338LM Standard – Single stack, single feed.  Use this magazine with your 338LM standard length cut actions.  Works well with the 300 Norma Magnum as well. 3.65 OAL
  • AICS 338LM CIP – Single stack, single feed.  Use this magazine with your 338LM CIP length cut actions.  Works well with the 300 and 338 Norma Magnum as well. 3.77 OAL

    Does what its supposed to do. But it should for a $100 magazine.

    I have an Aero Precision Solus complete rifle in 6mm CM and this is for the Accuracy International AW 308 ten round magazine. This fits and even feeds cartridges until after the very last one. In that case, when there are no rounds left in the magazine, the bottom plate on top of the spring sticks up too far to where the bottom lug on the bolt catches the plate. I can only get it to go forward if I push the plate down. There is a magwell adjustment on my rifle and I will play with that to see if I can get this to work after that last round. If I can adjust it to work I will update this review. I can always remember not to slam home the bolt when at the last round, … or not.

    As you can see in the picture attached the bottom lug of the three lug bolt just catches the plate. If I slam it forward then something, probably the plastic plate, is going to break.

    Other than that, I like that it is metal and double stack. Tolerances seem to be tight. It sticks out the bottom much less than a single stack such as the Magpul plastic magazine that comes with the rifle. This alone is worth the price and this review is based on that fact. Now if only I can adjust the rifle for it …
